I ALMOST FORGOT

Last months potluck was about 2 weeks ago and I forgot to post the highlights of the evening. Sad to say that usually one event...one very interesting event has to set the tone for the rest of the evening. And this time it had to happened within the first 5-10 minutes of arriving.

I arrived with Alicia and Marianne and we are usually the first to show up cause Alicia is in charge. So we arrived and 3 guys arrived shortly after. They did not come together but all arrived with Jello as their offering for the potluck. I like jello so that's not the issue. They all started in on who's jello was better by whether it was homemade, bought at the store or had fruit in it, and it even went as far as whose was Celestial and who's was Telestial jello. Did they think we would be impressed by this very odd display of male flirting?

Well I had, had enough by about 4 minutes as well as Alicia and so we both made a not so sneaky exit for the family room and couches. That left Marianne to deal with the whole jello conversation and finding her own way to sneak away. And I didn't have to talk to any of them the rest of the night.

My next favorite was a guy asking me about my ideas on relationships and other honest things about what I thought, and seconds after finishing he got up and left me sitting on the grass never to return. Hey he's the one who asked the questions I was just honest. Will they ever learn. The interesting part was that about 30 minutes later I caught him staring at me from the deck above and smiled at me. So why did he so abruptly leave??? Whatever.

Then conversations turned to everyone's worst dates and while doing this a guy pulled up a piece of grass next to me and we talked for the rest of the evening. That actually made the end of the evening the best part. He was easy to talk to and we had fun getting to know each other. Now if I could just talk and get to know guys like him the evening would turn out a whole lot better and I wouldn't want to avoid a huge population of males. :)

I'm wondering where the one for me is hiding? I'm getting annoyed with playing hide and go seek!
