SUMMER RAIN

I realized last night why I like Summer Rain! Fall is my favorite season because it's colorful dry and cool but not cold. Summer rain cools down the hot summer heat enough that you feel like it's fall. If I lived where there was humidity this wouldn't be the case, it would just get warmer and muggier. Plus the smell of summer rain is different than spring rain smell. I'm not one for enjoying being in the rain...actually I don't like being in it and do whatever is possible not to get wet when it's raining. And the cloud cover makes the day feel like night and I'm more calm during cloud cover rather than the bright hot sun! Weird I know.


I even enjoy a good thunder and lightening storm. About 12 years ago in college there was a week where we had lightening storms every night and I would drive the long open stretch between Logan and Smithfield with lightening all around me by the mountains to the East and the West. It was a magnificent sight! There has been thunder and lightening a bit lately and it made me realize that I don't hear or see it as often as I did when I was growing up. I'd like to experience it more from the comfort of my home.

I don't though like WIND...a breeze is fine but wind is not my friend. As a kid when a wind storm was starting I would head outside to make sure EVERYTHING was put away or at least put something heavy on top of things so they wouldn't blow away. I was so afraid of loosing things and watching them blow away. I could do without wind!

Wind is great for Wind Energy

Feeling a breeze that is comfortable

But not high destructive loud wind

Or the kind that blows your hair in your face all the time!
