CHANGING ME FOR THE BETTER!

Exercising...Not my strong point! Running in Elementary and Junior High very much hated. And I mean LOATHED!
I either came in last, or didn't finish. For the most part I was healthy growing up, with all of the outside chores to do on a acre of yard, mowing lawns for the widows, and apple duties from the many apple trees in the backyard.

Spring of 2009 I weighed the heaviest I have ever been and I could see my stomach pooch in many pictures. So this last summer I changed how I ate and exercised a little...and I mean a little...and lost 10 pounds.

Spring of 2010 and I kept off about 8 of the 10 but thought it would be nice to loose another 10. Ann at work found a book called "The Game on Diet" and she had me read it so we could do it at work with those who wanted to participate get healthy, and make some life changes.

The best part about the program is that it's not just a diet, it's also helping change life habits. We are on teams and we get points for eating 5 small healthy meals a day, 7 hours of sleep a night, 20 minutes of exercising, getting rid of a bad habit, starting a new habit, communicating with a teammate and opponent, loosing weight, and the biggest one, drinking 100 liters of water a day.

Not sure I like all the trips to the bathroom or the fridge but I'm sure I will get used to it. At first I gained 6 lbs of water weight in one day and I wasn't very happy as it stayed with me for a whole week. Ruined my score for week one. This week has been different. I lost the 6 lbs of water weight and 3 lbs from my starting weight.

I've realized how much better I feel from exercising (elliptical and treadmill), eating better, being hydrated, and loosing some weight. The game is really fun and if it wasn't I probably wouldn't be making the changes I am. And hey my bathing suit will look better on me this summer than it did last summer!

I probably still won't be doing any Running!
