Parade in May, I know a bit out of order

It's not often that we get a picture of mom not covering her face or running from the camera not to get in the picture. Dad sent me this picture yesterday from the Health Day's parade that was on Mother's day weekend. So I had to take the opportunity to post it. Here we are standing in the driveway of the house watching the parade. Brackston freaked out and I spent most of the parade holding him. Ya it was cold but mom is wearing her heavy coat cause she gets cold real easy.

Cache Valley, Family Fun

June 18-21 The weekend after Idaho and Washington, I went home to Cache Valley for time at home, Bird family reunion/Grandma Bird's birthday, and Father's day. I went up a day earlier than most everyone else so dad put me to work by helping him clean the carpets, or mainly watching Brackston so he did not walk on the clean sections of the carpet. After that was done we rearranged the bedrooms so that each bedroom downstairs had a double bed and a single bed. Once everyone got there we had a good night just relaxing. The night was extremely cool, which is not the norm for a middle of June night. When Mason got there I got to play Mario on his DS, but because I sucked at it, it did not last long. Instead I started making my lemon bars for the reunion on Saturday. While I was doing this Katelyn took my camera and was doing a photo shoot. There were a lot taken of household stuff like wall hangings, lamps, rugs, and her stuffed animals. She did some fun ones as well here is what she came up with. :)

Saturday brought the family reunion. I was lucky enough to have the 4 oldest nieces and nephews beg to ride with me to the park. When we got there they all set off for the playground. When Brackston got there he and I headed over to see what they were doing. What we found were the trouble makers digging under a fake rock like stairway to the slides and monkey bars like dogs do to go under fences. I soon found that Aubrey started it and the others followed.

While at the reunion it got cold and very rainy. luckily we had the pavillion and all fit. Most adults and some kids spent most of the day underneath it while of course our kids found more trouble. After the heavy rain stopped the 4 found the sand volleyball court and started burying themselves up to their waist's.

After the reunion the kids wanted to ride back with me in the car and I said NO, so they were lucky enough to ride home in the back of Richards truck, stripped at the back door before going inside and then like an assembly line I got them in and out of the shower in about an hour. We all sat down and watched "Forever Strong" a fantastic movie recommended to all! Of course after that I had to teach Nines to who ever wanted to.

Sunday brought church, and a yummy dutch oven dinner of ribs, potatoes, and peach cobbler for Father's Day. We started playing nines, and while playing got 3 calls from various neighbors saying that a very large wind and hail storm was coming. We continued to play and only got the wind and no hail. Its always hard to stop what your doing and load up for the drive back, but we did and headed out. I was lucky I remembered everything. Richard and April got halfway through sardine canyon and had to turn back for April's purse left at the house ;) It was a very enjoyable Father's day weekend!

Idaho and Washington

June 9-15 This summer has brought many good things to do so far.
The first was driving to Burley Idaho and spending some time with Aunt
Maryann and Darrell and then driving to Washington With Kym and Adam
for Kym and Amy's sister Megan's Wedding.

I taught Maryann and Darrell how to play Nines. Darrell lasted about a half
hour and Maryann and I played til 11:30 that night. The next day when she
got home from work we snuck a few rounds in before dinner and driving
to Jerome to see Alyson, Jared, Alice and Elliot. All I can say is that Maryann
was either cheating or just a natural at nines cause I lost... a LOT!

We met Kym and Adam at a gas station in Jerome and the 3 of us drove to
Boise for the evening. We stayed at Mindy and Tom's, another sister of Kym
and Amy's, in their new house. We had a BBQ and lots of fun. We got up the
next day bright and early...well Kym and I did and then waited for Adam and
her nephew Kaden to pack and then we were off. We were planning on taking
a picture of us in front of the house but forgot so the following is one after we
had started our journey, and no we were not parked!

We arrived in Richland and I got right in and started helping with the final
small wedding details. Cutting the Luncheon Menu, Tying bows on truffle
boxes, and searching town with Lisa, Amy, and Kindle about 10 pounds of
fresh shaved coconut for the wedding cake. Lots of people in the house
(27 people at most) and lots of FUN!!!


The next morning was the Wedding, and I'm sure you can only imagine what
it was like to get 16 people in and out of showers and to the Temple on time.
We went to the church first (right next to the Temple) to make sure everything was still ready to go and then went to the Temple. It is small but very beautiful.

There were at least 75 people in the sealing so most men were standing
and the women were straddling/sharing the rows of seats. We went outside
after the wedding to wait. During this time I got to know Brad and Mason
(the 2 youngest of 10 Baird kids) a lot better and now have 2 new best
friends. After about 15 minutes we realized that we were so hot so we all
went into the closed in waiting area to await the arrival of the
bride and groom.

After the wedding we had the luncheon. While waiting for the Bride &
Groom to arrive Brad, Amy, Mason, Tiana and I snuck some of the truffles
on the table and then retied the boxes so it looked like they had not been
opened. hahaha My new best friends are already making me feel young again!

After cleaning up the luncheon we were able to go back to the house for a
bit before heading to the outdoor reception. The reception was really
beautiful and there were a LOT and I mean a LOT of dessert choices and of
course I ate a lot and then was on a sugar high.

Of course after the reception we were all needing something more than
sweets so we all headed to the Red Robin. They thought we were crazy when
we said we would need about 30 seats and so they set up about 15 and as
everyone came they had to set up more for us. Red Robin is one of my
favorite places so I was really happy. After Red Robin we actually went
home and popped in a movie. We didn't last long before falling asleep.

The trip was not over but Brad's picture seemed to be the last one that I took.
I think there are some on Kym's camera. Saturday I was able to sleep in and
then watch a movie with a few of the 27. Then we all got ready to head to the
lake for boating, BBQ, and wave runners. I had a great time and then I got
on the wave runner with Brad for oh about 30 minutes and when I got off I
knew I was in trouble. My whole body felt like jello and I was oh so sick to my
stomach. We had gone around and around, and put the wave runner under
the water while staying on, so basically I had held on for dear life. I can't
blame him completely cause I was truly having fun.

After the lake we ran home changed and then went to the movies. The girls
went to "My Life in Ruins" and the boys went to the "Terminator", by the time
we got home we were tired.

Sunday we went to sacrament meeting and then home to BBQ the left
over hamburgers and hotdogs. I was actually really sad to leave but it was
time so we packed everything up and made our way to Boise where we
stopped at a friends house for a breather and a big mac. I was dropped
off in Burley where I stayed the night and then drove the 3 hour drive
home the next morning. My back was hurting so bad that I called the
chiropractor office and bumped my appointment to that day as soon as
I got into town. The diagnosis...3 ribs in the shoulder blade were out and
my right hip was slightly out of the joint. The price I paid for fun! I miss
being there and being around so many fun people and hope to go back soon!

Tuesday was the last full day of school and every year
on that last full day for lunch we do a BBQ. I was able to
enjoy it with some of my favorite kids
(I shouldn't have favorites but I do).
After a few pictures the kids got a hold of my camera and
went crazy taking pictures, so many that I can't post
them all. Here is the first of many.

Today June 6th for my ward's summer primary activity we went to the
Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open house. We met at the church and had a
pretty good turn out of 14 kids. We did not know how busy it would be
when we got there and found that it was not crowded at all and got right in.
The wind was really blowing but was a beautiful day to visit the Temple.
When it was over the kids and us adults had lots of cookies and water.

June Fun

So it seems that I only post when I have a picture to go with it, I do not have any new pictures so I thought I'd just write about what's going on in my life right now and the month to come.

School gets out in 3 days at Rowland Hall which means the kids are gone, and my days at work will be less hectic and projects will get completed faster without the many interruptions. I have really enjoyed the kids this year and will sadly miss them during the summer months. But the summer months do go fast and it won't be long before Franny, BoBo, ShoeShock, LuLu, Princess Leah, Tala, MoMo, Hazelnut, and many more come back to brighten my days.

Kym and Amy left me for Washington and Idaho to live so I have a bit more time on my hands to sit an miss them. I do though get to travel to Burley on the 10th and spend the evening with Aunt Maryann, Uncle Darrell and Alyson. On the 11th I travel to Washington to vacation and spend time with Kym and Amy's family for their sister Megans wedding.

The next weekend brings the Bird Family Reunion, Grandma Birds Birthday, and Fathers Day so I will travel to Cache Valley, stay with mom and dad, and plan to be occupied every minute while there.

The last weekend of June I'm really excited for. LaDessa and I are flying to San Diego for 5 days to see the area, relax, Sea World, the beach, and do a session in the San Diego Temple. The month with all of it's excitement will pass quickly and before I know it, it will be July! Bring on the Fireworks!
