June Fun

So it seems that I only post when I have a picture to go with it, I do not have any new pictures so I thought I'd just write about what's going on in my life right now and the month to come.

School gets out in 3 days at Rowland Hall which means the kids are gone, and my days at work will be less hectic and projects will get completed faster without the many interruptions. I have really enjoyed the kids this year and will sadly miss them during the summer months. But the summer months do go fast and it won't be long before Franny, BoBo, ShoeShock, LuLu, Princess Leah, Tala, MoMo, Hazelnut, and many more come back to brighten my days.

Kym and Amy left me for Washington and Idaho to live so I have a bit more time on my hands to sit an miss them. I do though get to travel to Burley on the 10th and spend the evening with Aunt Maryann, Uncle Darrell and Alyson. On the 11th I travel to Washington to vacation and spend time with Kym and Amy's family for their sister Megans wedding.

The next weekend brings the Bird Family Reunion, Grandma Birds Birthday, and Fathers Day so I will travel to Cache Valley, stay with mom and dad, and plan to be occupied every minute while there.

The last weekend of June I'm really excited for. LaDessa and I are flying to San Diego for 5 days to see the area, relax, Sea World, the beach, and do a session in the San Diego Temple. The month with all of it's excitement will pass quickly and before I know it, it will be July! Bring on the Fireworks!

Easter

Easter is such a great time, all of the candy, Easter
basket surprises, trees in bloom, warmer weather,
and just enough wind to fly a cheap dollar store kite.
Like all my other years I spent Easter at home in
Cache Valley with mom and dad. This year I got
a 4 day weekend and was able to take Katelyn and
Jaden up with me early to spend some time with
Grandma and Grandpa. We went to the Elementary
school park, library, dyed eggs, played lots of games,
and watched some John and Kate + eight. Saturday
Dessa and I went to a favorite Chinese food restaurant
and planned a trip to San Diego until 1 in the morning.
On Easter I awoke and for my 31st year had to go
searching for my hidden basket, which will probably
continue to happen as long as I'm single or my parents
tire of doing it, which is not as likely.

I LOVE HOCKEY

At work last month I won tickets to a Grizzlies hockey game, I got
to pick which game and the seats. I had no idea how good of seats
I had picked until we walked down the never ending stairs and got
to our seats! 2nd row and right next to the team. I could have
touched players all night had it not been for the glass in between
us. It was an awesome game with more fighting and excitement
than I ever saw while watching college hockey games.

Cammie's Wedding

In 2002 while working at the Book Table in Logan, a co-worker
found out that there was a Borders store opening up in town and
forced me to apply. Needless to say I was hired and started at
Borders in October 2002. When Borders opens a new store they
would send management from other Borders stores to help open
the new store. Cammie was one of the first people I met, she was
the General manager for the Murray Borders.

In 2005 I decided I needed a change, and there was an opening
in Cammie's store of which I applied for. It wasn't a position I
wanted but would get my foot in the door for other
opportunities and move to Salt Lake.

In the meantime I had trained a new General Manager for
the Salt Lake Downtown store named Teddi on one of the stores
computer personal programs. Word got to her that I was
looking to come to Salt Lake, and I was asked to interview with her
as well. I felt better about what Teddi was offering me and made my transfer and move to Salt Lake within a week and a half. I worked
at the Downtown store for little over a year til the store was closed
for the new mall demolition. Before the store closed I was offered a
job in Cammie's store. After 4 years I finally got to work with
Cammie, and she was a great manager and friend!
